One hurt, two being questioned when shots fired at protesters in Bedford Co.

JUNIATA TOWNSHIP, Pa. — An investigation is underway into a shooting Monday night that sent one person to the hospital in Bedford County.

The shooting happened at a home on Lincoln Highway in Juniata Township just before midnight.

A fight broke out at the home and shots were fired, state police said.

A group of protesters marching across the country from Milwaukee to Washington D.C. in response to the death of George Floyd told WJAC-TV that the shooting victim was a part of their group.

Frank Nitty, who told WJAC-TV that he’s the group’s leader, said he took the shooting victim to Conemaugh Memorial Hospital in Johnstown.

Nitty told WJAC-TV that he was doing a live video on social media when the shooting happened. A video later posted by Nitty on Facebook shows a group of people standing along the side of the road when noises that sound like gunshots are heard. The video shows people getting into cars and quickly leaving the scene.

One person was taken to the hospital, state police said. Their condition hasn’t been released.

Two people are being questioned at the state police barracks in Bedford.
