Man hit, killed by at least 2 tractor-trailers on Pennsylvania Turnpike; 3rd truck sought

NEW SEWICKLEY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man was hit and killed early Wednesday morning while walking in a westbound lane of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in New Sewickley Township, police said.

Devin Glace, 30, was struck by at least two tractor-trailers just before 3 a.m., according to investigators. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“It is believed that he was in the actual travel lane,” Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Joshua Black said.

The drivers of the two tractor-trailers stopped. However, the driver of a third tractor-trailer kept going, police said.

“A lot of times, the tractor-trailers have dashcams in them nowadays. We’re not necessarily saying that vehicle was involved, but they were in the area,” Black said.

Authorities said the truck that did not stop was described as a “green Peterbilt long wood trailer with grain on top.” Anyone with information about that truck is asked to call Pennsylvania State Police in Gibsonia at 724-443-5907.

A car that was towed from the scene is believed to be Glace’s, police said.

During the initial investigation, all westbound lanes of the turnpike were closed between Cranberry and New Castle until about 8 a.m.
