Parents charged after children found living in squalor in Kiski Twp.

KISKI TWP. — Two parents are facing charges after police say two small children were found living in squalor Tuesday.

Kiski Township police said two children, ages 4 months and 3 years old, were found living a home in the 1300 block of Brownstown Road that was infested with cock roach and fleas where the children slept, along no working sewage, garbage throughout the residence including discarded diapers on the floor, spoiled food in the refrigerator and dirty dishes in the stink which had insects all over.

Both parents, Edward Reed Jr., 24, and Kayla Vojtilla, 22, were taken into custody for endangering the welfare of child and arraigned. Both were released on $10,000 unsecured bail with a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 19.

Armstrong County CYS placed both children with a family member.
