Man arrested at Monroeville motel after woman’s mutilated body discovered, police say

MONROEVILLE, Pa. — A man was arrested at a Monroeville motel after he was found standing, covered in blood, outside a room where a woman’s mutilated body was discovered, according to police.

Allegheny County police officers were dispatched to the Rodeway Inn around 9:30 a.m. Saturday for a large amount of blood found outside a room.

When they arrived, they found Matthew Gribschaw, 37, standing outside, covered in blood, according to police.

Officers checked the motel room and found the body of Rochella Anderson, 49, “badly mutilated.” The criminal complaint states police found the woman’s body underneath a bed and parts of the victim’s body were found in a garbage can.

Investigators believe Gribschaw was responsible for killing Anderson.

He is in the Allegheny County Jail charged with criminal homicide, abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.
