Police release name of man that died after overnight shooting in Polish Hill

PITTSBURGH — A man by the name of Richard T. Brookins, 29, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died at the hospital after a shooting in Polish Hill early Sunday morning.

The incident occurred in the 3000 block of Paulowna Street around 2:40 a.m., police said.

Officers responded to a Shotspotter alert and found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. Police immediately rendered aid to the victim until EMS arrived. The man was taken to the hospital in serious condition, where police say he later died.
