PITCAIRN, Pa. — The cleanup has begun for Allegheny County residents and business owners affected by massive flooding.
Here are some of the communities hit hardest:
Allegheny County
Pitcairn
Residents and business owners in Pitcairn are dealing with flooded basements and businesses.
Channel 11 was there when the waters rose on Broadway Boulevard Monday night.

The basement of Phil’s Pharmacy saw nearly two feet of water in its basement. Channel 11 spoke with the owner, Phil Arlia, who said he’s been able to get things cleaned up and run a dehumidifier.
He’s been there for 50 years and the only other time he’s been flooded this badly was decades ago when we saw the impact of Hurricane Agnes.

After that, Arlia said his dad built shelves to keep things off the ground and fortunately it prevented serious damage.
Officials said dozens of others were impacted, prompting a state of emergency that is still not lifted.

Pittsburgh
Several roads remain closed after record-breaking rainfall this weekend.
A portion of Noblestown Road is Elliot is closed in both directions due to a landslide. The road is closed between Obey and Weaver streets.
The Mon Wharf will remain closed until further notice as a flood advisory continues for the Ohio River until Wednesday afternoon.
The "bathtub" area of the Parkway East has reopened. On the other side of town, the 10th Street Bypass remains closed.
There is no timetable on when the 10th Street Bypass will reopen.
Flooding also has boats floating on the Riverfront Trail on the North Shore.
Pittsburgh Chief Operations Officer Guy Costa told Channel 11 the owners of the boats will be contacted, and once the water recedes, it will be their responsibility to remove them.

If any boats break loose, a salvage company will recover and claim them.
The city's River Rescue Operations Chief Richard Linn said boaters should avoid cruising for at least a week.

He said they had to rescue one man on Monday who was planning on rowing his boat all the way to New Orleans.

Trafford
People in Trafford are cleaning up after some major flooding Monday.
The fire chief told Channel 11 that 30 homeowners were affected by basement and first floor flooding.
The water came from nearby Brush Creek, which hasn’t overflowed this badly since the early 2000s.
All of the damage was contained to basements and first floors and there were no reports of injuries.

Westmoreland County
Torrential rain caused a road in Allegheny Township to collapse.
South Gosser Hill Road is closed between Hyde Park Road and Pitrow Lane until further notice.

- Route 51 southbound between Coal Valley Road in Pleasant Hills Borough and Wray Large Road in Jefferson Hills Borough
- Clairton Dravosburg Road (Route 837) between Curry Hollow Road and Washington Avenue in Dravosburg Borough
