Teen girl reports attempted attack while walking home in Baldwin Borough

BALDWIN, Pa. — Police are investigating a report of an attempted attack on a teenage girl in Baldwin Borough.

According to the victim’s mom, who spoke with Channel 11 anonymously, the 16-year-old girl had been walking home from a friend’s house Wednesday night in the area of Penn Street.

She was coming home for her 10 p.m. curfew when an unknown person reportedly attempted to grab her from behind. The teen struck him and ran to her home, which was nearby. Her mom told us she is okay despite suffering scratches and bruising.

On Friday, Channel 11 visited the neighborhood, which is predominantly residential. Neighbors said it’s typically quiet.

“It’s frightening,” one neighbor told us, hoping that police can get to the bottom of the situation.

In a Facebook post, Baldwin Borough Police said that officers set up a perimeter around the area and called in a K-9 team, but the K-9 was not able to develop any leads.

“Officers spoke to a number of residents and any potential leads were exhausted that night. Our detectives have been investigating this incident and have a few different working theories that are being fully investigated,” the post read.
