‘Tis the season to celebrate: Holiday Lights returns to Kennywood in 2021

PITTSBURGH — With three months to go until Santa makes his annual flight, Kennywood is preparing for the return of the popular Holiday Lights festival.

In it’s 10th anniversary season, Holiday Lights will begin on Nov. 20.

The holiday season starts at Kennywood with a special preview night just for season passholders on Nov. 19. The holiday extravaganza continues every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through Christmas Eve, plus nightly Dec. 26 through Jan. 2. In addition to the expanded calendar, the park will be open an extra hour most nights.

“We can’t wait to welcome our valued passholders and guests back this winter to enjoy everything Holiday Lights has to offer,” said Kennywood General Manager Mark Pauls. “In addition to seeing the park transformed into a winter wonderland, guests can also anticipate all-new experiences and a delicious seasonal menu, for a one-of-a-kind event you can only experience at Kennywood.”

To keep warm on a cold Pittsburgh night, hungry guests can visit the Parkside Cafe and enjoy a traditional holiday feast, plus indulge in a specialty hot chocolate.

The crown jewel of the event is the park’s spectacular light displays, which feature more than one million lights and the tallest Christmas tree in the state of Pennsylvania.

Fan-favorite activities like dinner with Santa, light shows around the lagoon, and musical performances return to provide festive fun - and a visit to Kennywood isn’t complete without rides. Thomas Town™, Kiddieland, and other family-friendly attractions will also be available.
