U.S. marshals, Pittsburgh SWAT make 2 more arrests in deadly August shooting

PITTSBURGH — Two more arrests have been made in connection to a shooting that killed a man in August in Pittsburgh’s Beltzhoover neighborhood, police announced Thursday.

With the arrests of Mariah Harrison and Justin Nicholas, both 19 years old, there have been a total of three people taken into custody in relation to the murder of Darren Green. Raymontay Green was arrested in September.

Darren Green was found shot to death on Aug. 14 after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a house on Bernd Street in Beltzhoover, police said.

Thursday’s arrests of Harrison and Nicholas were made by the U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force and the City of Pittsburgh SWAT team.

Police said Nicholas happened to be present when Harrison was taken into custody. He had an outstanding warrant for firearms violations and, after an interview, was also charged in the murder.

A stolen gun was found when Harrison and Nicholas were arrested, police said.

Harrison and Nicholas each face charges including criminal homicide, robbery and conspiracy.

Raymontay Green is charged with criminal homicide, criminal conspiracy, carrying a firearm without a license and persons not to possess a firearm.
