PITTSBURGH — A two-week closure of P.J. McArdle Roadway in Pittsburgh starts Monday.
Drivers will have to detour around the busy road that connects the Liberty Bridge to Grandview Avenue on Mount Washington.
The closure is needed for ongoing maintenance, officials said. Specifically, crews will complete maintenance work on deck joints at both ends of the bridge over Sycamore Street.
The closure of P.J. McArdle Roadway will last until June 20.
Drivers are preparing for potential traffic backups.
“Personally, I’m a Carlow student, so I actually take this way every single day. I’m kind of nervous because I have some summer classes coming up to commute there early in the morning, but hopefully it’ll be cleared up soon,” Isabella Diaz said.
