No winner as jackpot jumps to $865 million

Update 12:03 a.m. EDT March 26: There were no grand prize winners in Monday’s drawing, meaning that Wednesday’s grand prize drawing will be worth an estimated $865 million. It will be the fifth-largest jackpot in the promotion’s history.

If a player wins the jackpot in Wednesday’s drawing, they will have the choice between an annuitized prize worth an estimated $865 million or a lump sum payment estimated at $416.1 million. Both prize options are before taxes. If the winner selects the annuity option, they will receive one immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5% each year, lottery officials said.

There were two tickets sold that won second-tier prizes of $1 million. One was sold in Florida, while the other one was sold in New York.

The Powerball jackpot was last won on Jan. 1 by a single ticket in Michigan that matched all five white balls and the red Powerball to win an $842.2 million grand prize. Since then, there have been 36 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner.
