Boppy Original Newborn Loungers, Boppy Preferred Newborn Loungers and Pottery Barn Kids Boppy Newborn Loungers are part of the recall.

The CPSC said infants can suffocate if they roll, move or are placed in the lounger in a position that could obstruct the baby’s breathing. They can also roll off the lounger and onto a pillow or other soft bedding that could prevent them from breathing.

Eight infants have died when they suffocated after being put on their back, side or stomach and were found to have rolled onto their side or stomach. The deaths happened between December 2015 and June 2020.

The recall involves all Boppy Newborn Loungers that were sold in different colors and fashions. The loungers were 23 inches long by 22 inches wide and 7 inches high. They were sold at children’s specialty stores and stores like Pottery Barn Kids, Target and Walmart nationwide for between $30 and $44 each. They were also available on Amazon, according to the CPSC.

Parents and caregivers are told to stop using them immediately and to contact Boppy for a refund.
