Police: Woman deliberately set house on fire after fight

McKEES ROCKS, Pa. — Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a woman accused of starting a fire Sunday afternoon in McKees Rocks after a fight.

Firefighters were called to a home on Chartiers Avenue around 2 p.m.

“It was reported to police that there was some sort of an argument between a couple of females living on the third floor earlier today, and one was threatening to come back and burn the place down. Right now we're classifying this as a suspicious fire,” said Chief Nick Radoycis.

Investigators told Channel 11's Brandon Hudson an arrest warrant was issued for 25-year-old Janet Coleman.

Police said Coleman allegedly used pizza boxes, toilet paper and other items to try to spread the flames.

A woman had to be rescued from the roof of the home.

”One female on the third floor was trapped. She climbed out on the roof on the second floor below. The police and fire department got her out,” said Radoycis.

The fire was contained to the stairwell leading to the third floor. No injuries were reported.

Authorities said Coleman is facing several charges, including arson and risking a catastrophe.
