Antonio Brown’s bail set at $100K; judge orders mental health evaluation

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown faced a judge Friday morning after turning himself in to police in Florida Thursday night, accused of hitting the driver of a moving truck, officials said.

During a hearing Friday morning, a judge granted Brown bail, which was set at $100,000, ESPN’s Cameron Wolfe reported. Upon his release, he will be required to wear a GPS monitor, undergo a mental health evaluation and drug and alcohol testing, as well as surrender his passport and guns.

The incident for which he is facing charges happened Tuesday afternoon outside of Brown’s home in Hollywood, Florida.

Police said there was an altercation involving the driver of the truck, which was parked outside Brown’s home. The driver told investigators he was “battered” by Brown and Brown’s trainer, Glen Holt, according to a criminal complaint.

Holt was arrested for felony burglary and battery following this incident.

An arrest warrant was issued for Brown before he turned himself in. He is charged with one count of burglary with battery, one count of burglary of an unoccupied conveyance and one count of criminal mischief less than $1,000.

NBC’s ProFootballTalk reported Wednesday that Brown locked himself in his home and that he reportedly ignored attempts by police to contact him.
