Pirates rookie pitchers pummeled by Cubs; 4-game win streak ends

With Braxton Ashcraft being placed on the injured list, the Pirates had to rely on a bullpen game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field. A trio of rookie pitchers were all hit hard, and Pittsburgh was routed 12-2 by Chicago on Friday afternoon.

Top 1st, 1-0 PIT: Konnor Griffin led off the game with a triple to right-center off Shota Imanaga (10-10). He scored on Oneil Cruz’s opposite field single to left field.
