Dick’s Sporting Goods’ stand for gun control is paying off

Ed Stack knew what he faced as he waded into America’s cultural war over gun control.

But the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, which left 17 people dead, was a breaking point.

After the shooting, as the chairman and CEO of Findlay-based Dick’s Sporting Goods Inc., he made the choice to stop selling assault-style weapons in Dick’s stores.
