Former Tribune-Review printing plant now a grow facility for medical marijuana

MARSHALL TWP. — What may well be the region’s largest medical marijuana facility is operating and growing its cash crop in a building long known for printing newspapers.

A right-to-know request to Marshall Township revealed that the new owner of 535 Keystone Drive, the one-time Newsworks facility owned by the Tribune-Review, is a single purpose entity working with Pennsylvania medical marijuana firm CannTech PA. The owning partners of 535 Keystone Drive LLC bought the building for $7.5 million in summer 2020 and arranged a lease with CannTech PA to operate a grow facility out of it.

In December, New York-based Ayr Strategies bought CannTech PA for in the range of $57 million in a transaction that included the deal for the former Newsworks property.
