URA board to hold special meeting over FNB Financial Center project on the Lower Hill

PITTSBURGH — A week after the regularly scheduled May board meeting was canceled due to a lack of a quorum, the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh announced it will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, May 26.

According to a release, the meeting is “to brief URA Board Members and the community on the redevelopment of the Lower Hill” for the FNB Financial Center as well as the neighboring parcel slated to be public open space.

The briefing is also expected to include an update on the Lower Hill LERTA District, a public funding mechanism which stands for the Local Economic Revitalization Tax Assistance, which has been much negotiated over between the development team of the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Hill District community.
