17-year-old boy shot, killed in Carrick identified

PITTSBURGH — UPDATE: A 17-year-old boy shot and killed in Carrick Monday night has been identified.

Damonte Hardrick was identified by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner.

He was found in a bedroom in a residence in the 100 block of Parkfield Street around 10 p.m.

ORIGINAL STORY: A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed in Carrick Monday night.

According to Allegheny County 911, crews were called to the scene in the 100 block of Parkfield Street at 10:02 p.m.

Once on scene, first responders found the victim inside a bedroom in the residence with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. The victim was hit once, but police said at least two shots were fired.

Officials initially said five people were in the residence at the time of the shooting but have since said that seven people were there.

This happened across the street from Carrick High School.

There is no information on any potential suspects at this time.
