HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP, Pa. — The Beaver County District Attorney is responding to claims made by a candidate running for his office that question who was behind the wheel of the DA’s vehicle during a crash in Hopewell in September.

Nate Bible says he was the passenger in his car, being driven by a friend on September 29, on Gringo Road in Hopewell.

Bible says a deer was in their lane as they were approaching the Five Points intersection with Broadhead Road, when his friend swerved to avoid the deer. They crashed into a guardrail on the opposite side of the road.

That friend, identified in court paperwork as Troy Kasper, was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Police say he blew a .174, which is twice the legal limit.

John Goodman II, who announced his campaign for District Attorney on Wednesday, questioned who was behind the wheel of the car.

Channel 11’s Andrew Havranek is going through court paperwork and spoke with Bible about these claims. Why Bible says these claims are an “opportunistic, cheap political shot” coming up on Channel 11 News at 5 and 6.
