2 men killed in head-on crash in Allegheny Township

ALLEGHENY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Two men were killed and another person was injured in a car crash in Allegheny Township.

According to Westmoreland County 911, the crash happened in the 1300 block of Melwood Road at around 9:30 a.m.

Dispatchers confirmed that two people died in the crash and that officials had to extricate a third person from a car.

The Westmoreland County Coroner identified the victims as Stephen John Dasta, 53, and Alan Louis Karadeema, 41. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say the two men crossed the center line in a Lexus RX300 and hit a Chevrolet Equinox head-on.

The coroner has ruled their deaths as an accident.

Investigators say the third person was flown to a hospital.
