4 hurt, including 2 kids, in stolen car crash in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH — Four people, including two children, were hurt Monday after a stolen car chased by police in the suburbs crashed shortly after it entered Pittsburgh.

Police say the chase began shortly before midnight in either Stowe Township or McKees Rocks, neighboring suburbs just west of the city.

Pittsburgh police were advised of the chase, but it was unclear whether city officers had joined in before the car crashed on Route 51 near the base of Mount Washington, just inside the city limits.

Emergency dispatchers say the car was reportedly going more than 100 mph at one point.

The names of those driving and their exact conditions weren't immediately available. Dispatchers said those injured -- including an 11-year-old and a 13-year-old -- were believed to be in serious condition when taken to hospitals.

Police said inside the car they were pursuing were two known gang members, Raymon Brown, 19, and Larry Wilson, 20. Both were taken to separate hospitals and face several charges, including theft, receiving stolen property and reckless endangerment.

Authorities said the car the suspects were allegedly driving was reported stolen from Dormont last week.
