PITTSBURGH — Officials hosted a community baby shower on Monday.
The event, held at the Homewood Early Learning Hub and Family Center, offered a chance to help families connect to resources like food assistance, baby supplies and other support services.
“Our family centers are right in the heart of neighborhoods across Allegheny County,” Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato said. “They’re open to any family with a child in the home; no income requirements and no barriers.
County leaders say while some programs have income requirements, many are open to all families.
One program highlighted during the event is the county’s Hello Baby program, which is designed to promote healthy pregnancies, early childhood development and family well-being.
“Our team understands how overwhelming these early years can feel, and we’re committed to making it easier for parents to find the support they need,” said Alex Jutca, Director of DHS. “We’re fortunate to have many resources available for new parents, and that’s the beauty of Hello Baby— it offers one place where families can get connected to the right help at the right time.”
