DONEGAL TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Westmoreland County man is behind bars after police say he sexually assaulted a child on multiple occasions.
Information shared by Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole Ziccarelli’s Office on Monday said Phillip Stilwell, 38, of Acme, was charged with aggravated indecent assault of a child, indecent assault of a child less than 13 years of age and corruption of minors.
State troopers received a ChildLine tip in June reporting that a minor had been sexually assaulted by Stilwell.
The victim told police that Stilwell told her not to tell her mother. Police said the final incident happened the night before the victim told their mother.
State troopers and Children and Youth interviewed Stilwell. According to investigators, Stilwell said the incident had happened three times in June in Donegal Township. Police said, when asked why it had happened, Stilwell said: “he was not sure.”
Stilwell was denied bail.
