Man dies after being shot multiple times in Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood

PITTSBURGH — Police are investigating after a man was found shot multiple times in Homewood.

Pittsburgh police responded to a ShotSpotter alert and 911 calls for a man shot in the 7000 block of Idlewild Street around 8:45 p.m. on Saturday.

When police got to the scene, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen.

The victim has been identified as John Larnell Taylor Jr., 42, of Pittsburgh. He was taken to a nearby hospital, but did not survive. He died less than an hour later.

There is still no word on a suspect, and the investigation remains ongoing.
