Innamorato is a current state representative and rose to the front of the pack with other frontrunners John Weinstein and Michael Lamb.

“Being a state representative and having those connections are completely and utterly vital for the next county executive,” Innamorato told Channel 11 in an interview last week.

The progressive Democrat rocked the political establishment in 2018 when she defeated State Rep. Dom Costa.

“I have the youth, the energy and the experience to handle the role of county executive, and I’m excited to work together with elected leaders and community leaders, and folks all across this county to build an even better, stronger, more equitable and just county for all of us,” Innamorato said previously.

When speaking with 11 News, Innamorato stressed the need for affordable housing in the county.

“It means that we are addressing the homelessness in our region, it means that we are creating programs where working families can afford to purchase a home and stay here and raise their family here,” Innamorato said.

Results are considered unofficial until they are certified.
