What Pittsburgh-area events have been canceled because of the coronavirus?

PITTSBURGH — The coronavirus is spreading across the country, and while there are no cases in the Pittsburgh-area yet, there have been some event cancellations. Below you will find a list of events in our area that are scheduled for the next few weeks. This list will be updated.

Canceled/Postponed:

Big Butler Fair

Martin Lawrence (April 24) - The LIT AF Tour, hosted by Martin Lawrence, was scheduled for PPG Paints Arena. The event will be rescheduled for a later date.

G7 meeting (March 24-25) - Out of an abundance of caution due to the coronavirus, a spokesperson for the State Department said the conference will now be held via video teleconference.

Celine Dion (March 13) - Dion’s show at PPG Paints Arena has been rescheduled, however, Dion said in a tweet that this was because she had a cold and not tied to COVID-19. The show will now take place on Nov. 18.

How I Learned What I Learned by August Wilson (March 13) - This event at the August Wilson Center is being postponed until fall 2020.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade (March 14) - The annual parade in downtown Pittsburgh was canceled on Wednesday. The city will look at alternative options to celebrate the Pittsburgh Irish community in the future, according to a release.

Reba McEntire (March 26) - Reba was initially scheduled to bring her tour to PPG Paints Arena on March 26. It was then postponed to July 16 and is now rescheduled for August 6, 2021.

Not Canceled:

Pittsburgh Penguins games (On-going) - The hockey season is well underway. While the NHL has announced that only essential personnel will be allowed in the locker room, there is currently no plan to cancel games. The team did release an announcement outlining extra precautions being taken at the arena.

Home and Garden Show (Through March 15)- This show at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center started on time and is not expected to be impacted.

WWE Raw Live (March 16) - Stone Cole Steve Austin is set to appear at this wrestling event for 3:16 day at PPG Paints Arena.

Millenium Tour 2020 (March 20) - Bow Wow and Omarion are coming to Pittsburgh for a show at the Petersen Events center.

Trolls Live (March 27-29) - PPG Paints Arena is in for a weekend-long takeover of Trolls.

Pittsburgh Bridal Showcase (March 29) - The David L. Lawrence Convention Center will host this annual show.

Pittsburgh Pirates Home Opener (April 2) - The baseball season is just around the corner. While MLB has announced that only essential personnel will be allowed in the locker room, there is currently no plan to cancel games.
