RICES LANDING, Pa. — The bodies of all three missing boaters from the crash on the Monongahela River have been recovered, bringing the death toll to four, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission said on Wednesday.
The incident happened Sunday night when a boat and barge collided near Rices Landing in Greene County.
On Wednesday morning, the commission said someone called 911 from Rices Landing after seeing something floating in the river. Emergency crews responded, and the third body, a male, was recovered.
They added that the two bodies recovered yesterday were of a male and female.
On the night of the crash, two people were pulled from the water by barge crew members. One of them, a woman, later died at a hospital in West Virginia. The condition of the second victim, a male who was flown to a hospital, is currently unknown.
The identities of all four victims who died have not yet been released.
The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is investigating the crash.
