Boy shot after going to wrong apartment, man charged

VERSAILLES — Dondre Grisom, 27, is behind bars after being charged in connection with a shooting outside his Center St. apartment in Versailles.

Police paperwork shows the shooting happened just before 9 p.m. Sunday after a boy under the age of 18 approached Grisom’s door.

The boy, whose name has not been released, was dropped off by his dad and went to the wrong apartment.

Investigators allege that Grisom fired at least four shots from inside the apartment, hitting the boy through the door.

The boy’s dad rushed him to a hospital. His condition is not currently known.

By the time police arrived on scene, the shooter had taken off.

After officers issued a warrant, Grisom turned himself in to Allegheny County Police on Thursday.

He now faces two counts of aggravated assault, a firearm charge, and one count of reckless endangerment.

Grisom is being held at the Allegheny County Jail on a $20,000 bond.

He’s due back in court for a preliminary hearing on Jan. 31.
