Authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of a man whose body was found in an alley early Wednesday morning in Washington County.
Police say officers found the man, who was identified as 24-year-old Marius Chatman, around 4 a.m. Wednesday near the Seventh Ward Playground on Donnan Avenue in Washington.
Detectives told Channel 11's Jennifer Tomazic that Chatman was shot multiple times.
Coroner Tim Warco says Chatman was pronounced dead around 5:40 a.m.
Detectives said there are no motives or suspects at this time.
However, authorities said Chatman was a local rap artist. Investigators are now reviewing his music after learning he may have called out several people by name in his lyrics.
Chatman’s aunt said her nephew was a talented artist and has been taken too soon.
“It’s sad. Something has to stop the violence,” she said.
