CABOT, Pa. — The owner of a bakery in Butler County has a lot to clean up after a chain-reaction crash on Saturday sent a minivan right into his wall.
Police said the incident happened in Cabot around noon.
James Barbarger, the owner of Heartfelt Bakery, said the front door is off its hinges, the whole front entrance is smashed and the foundation may have been affected after a chain-reaction crash pushed a parked van inside the store.
“I heard a real loud thump, and I heard somebody yell, ‘Look out,’” said Barbarger.
Police said two trucks collided at the intersection just outside the bakery, sending one of them towards the store.
“It was sliding across the parking lot without wheels,” said Barbarger.
Barbarger, who was making a sandwich at the time of the accident, said six customers were inside with him.
For now, the bakery remains closed, and Barbarger said he isn’t sure how long it will be until he reopens.
However, Barbarger said he’s just glad no one was hurt, not even the driver of the truck.
“If in fact that van had not been parked there, that truck would have been in here. But everything happens for a reason, and that van was parked where it was supposed to be,” said Barbarger.
