ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. — The nation’s biggest bank, which has built 20 branches in the Pittsburgh region in the past two-and-a-half years, pulled the plug on one in the works and pushed the planned debut for another to 2023.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. withdrew its applications to establish branches in Robinson Township and East Liberty, according to regulatory filings.

A spokesman said Chase “encountered a problem with third-party approvals” for its Robinson Township location at Steubenville Pike and Campbell’s Run Road, “so we had to cancel the project.”
