EAST PITTSBURGH, Pa. — A day after a deadly shooting in East Pittsburgh, community leaders continued to discuss ways to prevent further violence.
The Greater Valley Coalition for Peace and Justice hosted a discussion on Tuesday evening.
Community leaders gathered in the East Pittsburgh neighborhood to discuss ways to build safer neighborhoods. They had planned this meeting even before yesterday’s deadly shooting on Grandview Avenue.

Violence prevention expert Lee Davis called leaders to use the resources available to them.
“Come together to let the community know that this is a safe space at the connect center, that the community cares, and that we have resources available for families and the victims and anyone in the community,” Davis said.
The coalition says it plans to hold more meetings and expand partnerships throughout the region.
