A state trooper is in stable condition after being ejected from a police motorcycle during a crash on Route 28 in Millvale near the 40th Street Bridge this morning.

Trooper Rocco S. Gagliardi said in a statement a state trooper was operating a motorcycle with lights and sirens.

“A vehicle did not yield to the emergency vehicle and ended up striking the motorcycle,” he said in the statement.

“Everyone is in good condition,” Gagliardi told Channel 11 after the crash, which took place around 8:10 a.m.

The trooper is being treated at a local hospital in stable condition, he said.

Channel 11 flew over the scene, where the motorcycle was on its side in the median.
