PITTSBURGH — The Richard DeShantz Restaurant Group wasn’t finished with its Strip District offerings when it opened Sea Monkey on New Year’s Eve to start 2026.
Joining the new night club is what the company is announcing as a “new hidden cocktail destination” called Vieux Carre, a French phrase that means “old square,” conceived to offer an “intimate speakeasy” in the rear of the more boisterous setting of Sea Monkey.
The restaurant group announced the addition with Sea Monkey on a late Friday afternoon as an venture that will be open and operate from Thursdays through Saturdays starting at 7 p.m.
