Eastbound lanes of Fort Pitt Tunnel reopen after crash; at least 1 person taken to hospital

PITTSBURGH — UPDATE: The eastbound lanes of the Fort Pitt Tunnel have reopened, according to PennDOT.


Due to a crash, the eastbound lanes of the Fort Pitt Tunnel are closed.

According to PennDOT’s 511 Map, there was a multi-vehicle crash on the eastbound side of the tunnel around 1:45 p.m. Emergency personnel are on scene.

An Allegheny County 911 dispatcher says at least one person was taken to a hospital from the crash.

PennDOT says the eastbound lanes of the Fort Pitt Tunnel are closed until further notice.

Motorists should find alternative routes.
