Crash brings down wires onto occupied vehicle in Ross Township

ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A crash in Ross Township brought wires down onto an occupied vehicle Thursday.

It happened near the intersection of Bernice Street and Neola Circle.

The crash damaged utility equipment and brought down the power lines, a Duquesne Light Co. spokesperson said.

Ross Township Deputy Chief of Police Brian Kohlhepp tells us there were two people inside the vehicle at the time: an older man and a woman.

Both were taken to the hospital to be evaluated for minor injuries.

DLC worked to de-energize the lines so the occupants could be rescued. Work then shifted toward fixing the equipment and restoring power.
