GIBSONIA, Pa. — An employee at a Gibsonia landscaping business scared away an armed robber Monday night after firing a gunshot in the robber’s direction, according to police.
The robber walked into the garage where the employee was, pointed a gun at him and demanded access to the business’ safe, police said.

Police said the employee acted like he was going to give the robber his wallet, but instead pulled out a gun and fired a shot in the direction of the man.
The robber was not injured, but police said he ran away into the woods after the shot was fired.
The employee will not face charges.
“He just reacted. He had a permit to carry the gun and yesterday he just happened to have that gun on him,” said Bob Amann, chief of Northern Regional Police.
The armed robber has not been found.
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact police.
