PITTSBURGH — The Kiski Area school board voted unanimously Wednesday night to terminate an employee accused of raping a girl whom he met while serving as a youth director at a church in Plum Borough.
Investigators said Daniel Jack, 31, pressured the then 16-year-old victim into sexual encounters and raped her at his Lower Burrell home. Jack was a youth director at Amplify Church and a technology employee in the Kiski Area School District.

Amplify Church terminated Jack in late April after learning of the alleged inappropriate conduct and contacted Child Line.
"The church has policies and procedures in place to try and prevent these sorts of things from happening," said Joe Kubit, an Amplify Church board member.
Kubit said prospective employees and volunteers are interviewed extensively and must pass a background check. Jack was hired as a part-time employee after passing the state police background check.
"The church has been, and will continue, to cooperate with law enforcement authorities as they conduct their investigation," said Kubit. "We try very hard and have a lot of staff and volunteers focusing on ministering to children, and it's very sad, it's painful to see something like what's been alleged take place."
Leaders in the Kiski Area School District made their decision to fire Jack during a school board meeting, prior to which Jack was on administrative leave without pay. Officials said none of the alleged incidents took place at the school or during school events.
