Glassport appoints new mayor following previous mayor’s arrest, resignation

GLASSPORT, Pa. — Glassport has officially announced a new mayor.

The borough council appointed Anthony Colecchi on Tuesday.

He’s served as the acting mayor since Keith Dimarco resigned. He’s also served as council president for the last four years and planned on running for mayor during the next cycle.

“I’m used to the public life and I just want to keep going as the quote-unquote figurehead of Glassport,” Colecchi said.

Colecchi said he plans to focus on public safety and economic development first as mayor

Dimarco resigned last month hours after he was charged in a “hidden camera investigation.”

Court documents say a family member found a camera hidden in a plant in the bathroom.

Police say Dimarco initially denied knowing about it, but later admitted he bought three cameras and placed one in the bathroom to secretly record his wife.
