Kraft Heinz contributes 450K meals to Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank

DUQUESNE, Pa. — A beloved company is doing its part to fight food insecurity in the Pittsburgh area.

A spokesperson for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank said more than 85 employees from Kraft Heinz came together to volunteer on Tuesday.

Kraft Heinz donated more than $150,000 to the food bank to help fund meals to be distributed throughout the Western Pennsylvania region.

According to the food bank, the donation, combined with volunteers’ efforts, will provide about 450,000 meals to community members.

“We are deeply appreciative of the long-term commitment Kraft Heinz has to the communities where its employees work and live. Today’s event is a perfect example of the impact of long-term partnerships, and the role employees, organizations and community partners can play in supporting neighbors facing food insecurity,” said Charlese McKinney, chief programs officer.

Officials say Kraft Heinz has provided around $1.6 million in support to the food bank since 2018.
