PITTSBURGH — The Steelers’ regular season is days away, and every sack recorded this season will benefit local kids.
Sacks for Kids is the Steelers’ annual campaign with law firm Bordas and Bordas.
For every sack the Steelers make, Bordas and Bordas will donate $500 to Ronald McDonald House Pittsburgh Morgantown.
The Ronald McDonald House operates 74 apartments for families to stay in while their children undergo treatment at UPMC Children’s Hospital.
“What’s better than going to the game and watching all the sacks happen? Because the Steelers have a great history with sacks, so we’re really blessed from that perspective,” Ronald McDonald House Pittsburgh Morgantown CEO Eleanor Riegel said.
Sacks for Kids has raised more than $320,000 since 2015. Bordas and Bordas donated $27,500 for the Steelers’ 55 sacks last season.
“I’ll play a little extra harder just ‘cause I know I’m doing it for the cause,” Steelers defensive tackle Keeanu Benton said.
