‘Like a tornado’: Pickup truck barrels into Butler County man’s car & home as he’s eating dinner

CONCORD TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police tell Channel 11 that a crash that sent a pickup truck into a home on Oneida Valley Road in Concord Township late Thursday night is possibly DUI-related.

“The good lord must be with me, because I’m still here,” said the owner of the home, who wished to remain anonymous.

Video from the homeowner showed the aftermath of that crash, which happened just before 10 p.m. Thursday.

“I sat in my chair eating my supper and I just heard like a tornado coming through the front door,” the man said.

He said at first, he had no idea what had happened.

“I didn’t see nothing until I walked over and looked out the door and the tailgate of the truck’s like, right up against the front door,” he told Channel 11’s Andrew Havranek.

The crash caused extensive damage to the outside of the man’s home. You can see smashed wood from the porch, a busted-up picnic table, a destroyed grill, and even the homeowner’s car is smashed.

It’s all of the stuff he had on his porch that he said stopped the truck from crashing into his house.

“There’s some porcelain tile, and stuff like that for in the kitchen that I had stored out there. If it wasn’t for that, the picnic table, and a bunch of stuff, I would have been, probably, toast,” he said.

You can see ruts in the yard from the truck’s tires. The home is on a bend of Oneida Valley Road, which is Route 38.

The homeowner said he checked on the driver, who was slumped over the steering wheel, unconscious. He was able to wake him up and called for medics.

The driver was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital and then flown to Pittsburgh.

There was no word on the driver’s condition as of Friday afternoon.

“I hope the guy’s alright anyways,” the homeowner said.
