McCANDLESS, Pa. — McCandless Floral partnered with the Society of American Florists on Oct. 14, to distribute flower bouquets at McCandless Crossing. As part of the nationwide “Petal It Forward” initiative, each recipient received two bouquets — one to keep and one to give away.
The event was organized following data released by the Society of American Florists regarding the emotional impacts of flowers. The organization surveyed more than 2,500 Americans across the United States to examine how flowers affect individual mood and happiness.
According to the survey, 88% of Americans reported that giving flowers makes them feel happy, while 80% reported feeling happy when receiving flowers. Additionally, 76% of respondents agreed that having flowers in their home or office improves their mood.
McCandless Floral owner Emily Betler joined hundreds of florists nationwide in the program.
