PITTSBURGH — A man is facing criminal homicide charges after a fatal shooting in Pittsburgh’s Elliot neighborhood in October.

According to Pittsburgh police, 40-year-old Donte Brewer was arrested on Wednesday.

He is accused of shooting 41-year-old Carrington Keys, who died later at a hospital.

The shooting took place on Lakewood Drive, just after 4:30 a.m. on Oct. 1.

According to the complaint, Brewer and Keys were together earlier that night at several area bars.

Police said they constructed a timeline of the night to identify Brewer as the shooter. They also impounded Brewer’s car, where they said they found evidence of a shooting.

Brewer has been charged with criminal homicide, tampering with evidence and firearms violations.

He was placed in the Allegheny County Jail.
