CONNELLSVILLE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A 45-year-old Mill Run man died Tuesday night after his vehicle went off the road on Springfield Pike in Connellsville Township and caught fire.

State police reported that Jess Earl Schroyer was driving north around 10:13 p.m. when his car failed to negotiate a curve.

Schroyer was driving a gray 2012 Chevrolet Cruze along a slight left-hand curve when the vehicle went off the right side of the road. The car traveled approximately 60 feet along the northbound lane roadside before hitting a tree, then continued another 65 feet before shearing a utility pole.

The car came to rest and caught fire. Firefighters arrived to find the vehicle fully engulfed in flames. Schroyer was found inside the vehicle and died as a result of the fire.
