ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — The wind brought a tree down onto a man’s home on Thursday.
He worries it could happen again.
The tree came down onto Mark Armstrong’s home on Hemlock Courts in Ross Township.
“Someone could be sitting out here,” Armstrong said.
Armstrong walked Channel 11 all around his property, showing what he says are dangerous dead trees.
The tree that fell on the side of his home today nearly missed three electrical boxes and an AC unit.
He’s worried another strong gust of wind could take out his back porch.
“Every day on the news, you see trees down all over the place, and we are surrounded by trees,” Armstrong said.
Armstrong says he’d be happy to pay for a tree removal service, but there is an issue no one can seem to figure out.
“I need to know where the property line is because you need to get permission from them to get these trees cut down,” Armstrong said.
He said he called Ross Township, which said the trees were on his housing complex’s property. The housing complex said they were on Ross Township’s property.
“I’m frustrated because this could have been avoided if someone just told me where the property line was,” Armstrong said.
Channel 11 contacted Ross Township, and immediately heard back from Commissioner Dan Demarco, who said they are having a crew go to Mark’s home within the next 48 hours to evaluate the trees.
If they feel they are dead and in danger of falling, they will remove them, no matter where the property line may be. Then they work on getting the details on the official property line for future removals.
Mark says the housing complex is set to take care of this tree that already fell early today.
