Mariah Carey’s Pittsburgh concert canceled hours before show

PITTSBURGH — All they wanted for Christmas was to see Mariah Carey perform, but fans were disappointed Wednesday when the singer canceled her concert just a few hours before showtime.

Ticketmaster’s website says the event organizer canceled the event, which was scheduled to be at PPG Paints Arena at 7:30 p.m.

“Pittsburgh, I am sorry to say, I’ve come down with the flu. It breaks my heart that I unfortunately have to cancel tonight’s show. I love you all so much,” Carey said.

Natalie Jaskowski said, “We’ve been talking about this for weeks now so we were really excited especially leading up to it today.”

Natalie Jaskowski was supposed to be there tonight along with 13 of her family members. They found out the concert was canceled just 4 hours before showtime.

Jaskowski explained, “Does anybody else’s ticket now say canceled and so my cousin looked online and she said oh my gosh mine says that too. It didn’t last night I checked our seats.”

Jen Madonna of Plum was supposed to attend. She said, “Upset, yeah very because we didn’t even get an email or anything and it was part of a Christmas gift for the girls so yeah we were really upset.”

Already dressed and ready - they still came downtown to have dinner.

“Hopefully - I guess she has the flu - she gets better,” Madonna said.

Refunds will be issued automatically, Ticketmaster’s website said. If you bought a ticket, the refund should be in your account within two to three weeks.
