MCKEES ROCKS, Pa. — A McKees Rocks K9 is getting national attention.
Information shared by McKees Rocks Police Chief Rick Deliman on Monday said K9 Roman will appear in the National Law Enforcement Officers’ Memorial 2027 Dogs of Law Enforcement Calendar.
Residents and supporters were able to vote for Roman in a competition to get him on the calendar.
Deliman said while the calendar feature is light-hearted, it means a lot to him, the officers and the community.
“To some, this may not seem like a big deal, getting K9 Roman in a calendar- but K9 Roman and McKees Rocks Police Department will be included in a national publication for something positive, and that is all in part to each of you,” Deliman said.
Recently, Roman and his partner, Officer Kelly, accompanied students in the McKees Rocks “Shop with a Cop” event.
