A man and his two dogs died in a fire in North Fayette overnight.
The fire broke out in a mobile home, which was left badly damaged and charred.

Channel 11 spoke with fire officials who confirmed a middle-aged man died.
The Medical Examiner’s office later identified the man as Robert Mlay, 71.

According to the assistant fire chief, Mlay was home alone with his two dogs when the fire broke out around 12:30 a.m. along Valleyview Drive in Allegheny County.
Firefighters quickly went inside the home to try to rescue Mlay, but neither he nor his dogs survived.

Firefighters say flames were shooting out the back door when they arrived and the smoke was intense.
They say fires like this are especially challenging because mobile home fires spread quickly.
Homes on either side of where the fire started suffered minor damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
